i’m here in tokyo and i’m tired. ugh.
do you know just how envious i happen to be of people who have flexible bodyclocks? i have friends who can put their head down on a pillow and fall asleep for 9 hours regardless of where they are or what time it happens to be. unfortunately i’m not blessed with that lovely gift…for example, last night i went to sleep at 10pm tokyo-time and woke up at midnight, tokyo-time. let’s hear it for 2 hours of sleep, hoorah…
see, i’m not complaining about the arduous life of a touring musician, i’m complaining about having an internal bodyclock that works like a hyperactive chihuaha. it’s kind of ironic that i’ve chosen a career that compels me to sleep at strange time in different parts of the globe, for i’m definitely not cut out for it, sleep-wise.
ok, enough about my internal-chihuaha-clock.
japan is such a nice place. the people are nice. the gizmos and gadgets are cool. the buildings are tall. the food is interesting. the toilets perform all sorts of odd functions. and my favourite film director, takeshi kitano, lives here.
and i can see mt. fuji from the top floor of this hotel! it’s way in the distance, all covered in snow, a perfect volcano cone.
ok, time to go and prop my eyelids up with toothpicks and talk about myself to nice japanese journalists.
sleep well, wherever you are.
