Journal / Internet

i don’t know, the ‘virgin mary in grilled cheese sandwich’ looks more like old film star mirna loy to me.
or possibly madonna
in her ‘silent film star look’ days.
did someone buy the grilled cheese?
isn’t the internet fantastic?
if someone had gone to the academics who set up the internet and said, ‘someday people will use this network to spend tons of money on questionable images of the virgin mary in a grilled cheese sandwich’ they might have been doubtful.
but that was back in the days of high-speed 900 baud modems.
i still remember my first 9600 bps modem.
it was the fastest available.
that’s also when a 1 gb hard-drive cost $1,200.
i just bought a terrabyte drive for $700.
12 years ago it would’ve been $120,000.
my how times do change…
i have an image of alan alda in a piece of bread, any takers?

Journal / Internet

there are times when i don’t trust this here internet thingy. i sometimes get the feelings that some of my emails get lost between my computer and the computer of their intended recipient.
does that happen to you? every now and then i’ll get a perturbed email from a friend of mine asking ‘why haven’t you written to me?’ when in fact i have written to them.
i blame space aliens.
or the freemasons.
or perhaps flouride.
but in any case, it’s annoying. sending off emails into the void and not knowing if they’re actually ending up where they’re supposed to go.

but i shouldn’t say bad things about the internet. the internet is my friend. it told me so. it sends me presents on christmas and it never forgets my birthday. so i shan’t criticize the internet.

i’m just here working away. fun fun fun. i do love to work. very few things are as satisfying as a good day in the studio.
bye for now,
