in big political news today, daddy yankee endorsed john mccain today and appeared with senator
mccain at a campaign stop.
daddy yankee’s biggest hit was ‘gasolina’, which i actually quite liked(even though i heard it literally every 30 seconds
when i was in latin america a couple of years ago).
but do you think that john mccain and his advisers know that ‘gasolina’ is slang for cocaine(aka-booger sugar, aka-bolivian
marching powder, aka-blow, aka-racket, aka-gasolina, oh, oops, that’s right, that’s the name of the song)?
i wonder if daddy yankee will be invited to perform ‘gasolina’ at the white house if john mccain wins?
that would be funny. i’m sure gw bush would be into it, as i think he did his fair share of coke back in the disco era.
nothing against daddy yankee(as i said, ‘gasolina’ was a very infectious hit song), but it is vaguely ironic(ok, replace ‘vaguely’ with ‘very’)that john mccain
is reaching out to the religious right while also appearing with a musician who wrote a song about
doing obscene amounts of cocaine.
politics makes strange bedfellows.
and in other strange bedfellows news it turns out that patriotic country & western star toby keith is a supporter of barack obama.
huh.
ok, off to denver.
