Journal / in answer to your question(s)

yes, in answer to your question(s), i do read the ‘comments’ part of my myspace site. i don’t get to read most of the mail because there’s a lot of it(i know, i know, i should reexamine my priorities), but i do try to read all of the comments(if that’s what they’re called, i’m new).
i also do read many of the posts on the boards on moby.com
new york, in other news, is becoming more and more like singapore every day. cleaner, richer, and rainier. at least now with giuliani trying to woo the fringes of the far right(good luck, adolph((aka-adolph giuliani)) we are allowed to jay walk and dance in bars again. mayor bloomberg is great, and most new yorkers love him. giuliani was a crackpot, and how he became the hero of 9-11 mystifies me. he was the mayor. the mayors office was basically next door to the twin towers. he showed up and did his job. he’s probably not a bad guy, but i’d be a lot quicker to label him a weird nyc crackpot mayor who did his job as opposed to a hero.
the firemen and policemen and rescue workers were heroes. no questions there. but giuliani? does anyone else remember when he tried to keep the original paddington bear in nyc? when he dressed up in drag for opera shows? when he tried to ban dancing in bars? etc? he’s a crackpot. and i can’t see the extreme right embracing a former mayor of nyc who is pro-choice and dressed in drag and marched in a the gay pride parade.
a republican in nyc is basically a very liberal democrat in any other part of the u.s.
that’s why we new yorkers are proud.
well, one of many reasons.
hometown pride isn’t a bad thing, is it?
especially if said hometown pride is based on living in a giant city that is incredibly tolerant and diverse?
and, well, that’s becoming more like singapore.
we can still chew gum on the streets.
which is good.
