i was just trolling around the internet and i realized that some of the best and most obscure early house records are on youtube.
i'm not sure if you can buy any of these, but they're all worth listening to.
really amazing, seminal, phenomenal records.
to the people who've taken the time to post these/put them up: thank you.
these are great and obscure records that deserve to be heard.
every single one of them makes me feel like it's 5 a.m on 14th street in 1990 with the trannies smoking crack in the bathroom and people dancing in the smoke and fog before having to get on the L train and head back to bushwick (which in 1990 was, uh, rough).
this was a period in musical history that was just amazing.
amazing, obscure records made in people's basements with broken down equipment and released on tiny independent labels.
these are all amazing, but they're only about 2% of all of the great underground house records made from 87-91.
