i need to find dick cheney’s accountant.
we all do.
and hire him.
in 2005 dick cheney earned $8,800,000.00(his net worth is listed at $96,000,000.00, by the way. that’s just shy of 100 million dollars. aka-a lot of money).
but yet he only paid $529,636.00.
i’m not so good with math, but isn’t $529,636.00 roughly 6% of $8,800,000.00?
so dick cheney is somehow in the 6% income tax range?
i didn’t even know that there was a 6% income tax range.
oh, that’s right, there isn’t.
unless you’re a super rich vice president who somehow can manipulate the tax code to your benefit.
this is why we all need to hire dick cheney’s accountant.
if you made $40,000.00 last year and you paid roughly $2,500.00 in income tax then you and dick cheney would be in the same boat, percentage-wise.
i guess when dick cheney avoided military service because he ‘had other priorities'(that’s his quote by the way) his ‘other priorities’ were making vast sums of money and not paying much in the way of income tax.
should we all follow the vice presidents lead and put ourselves in the 6% income tax bracket?
