i went to a book party tonight for tama janowitz’s new bookand i got the chance to spend some time with john waters.a few years ago john asked me to contribute music to’cecil b. demented’, and even though i was on tour and notworking on outside projects i made the time to do this becausei’m such a huge fan of his.
and, in addition to being an icon, he’s a very kind and gracious man.and he made ‘pink flamingoes’ before underground cinemareally had much of an audience.apparently the movie that he’s working on now, with selma blair(whom imiss)and johnny knoxville, is going to be great.so go see it when it comes out, ok?
hooray for john waters.
and if you’ve never seen ‘pink flamingoes’ well, you should. but bewarned, it’s not for the faint of heart.
