i have the ‘after the show it’s the after party and, after that it’s the hotel lobby and, after that it’s belvy and cris…’ song by jay-z stuck in my head.
has anyone ever stopped to think just how much free advertising the hip-hop community has given to certain brands? where would hennesse, alize, tommy hilfiger, belvedere, cristal, etc be without hip hop? i think that the hip hop community would be well within its rights to get royalties from the sales of products that they mention in their songs. or, even better, why not start companies themselves?
nothing against lvmh, but that way mc’s could do shout outs to their own companies. just a thought. last night i had a barbecue on my roof that became tofu-pups cooked inside after it started to rain. and then back to the roof. and then more rain. then back to the roof. etc.
it was good exercise, i guess. going up and down stairs all evening. and i’m very pleased with my friends for being open minded enough to eat vegan hot dogs and hamburgers. i always feel a bit guilty foisting my veganism on other people, but i couldn’t in good conscience cook meat. uh oh, time to go and do a radio interview. i’m 2 minutes late. uh oh.
my waspy sense of responsibility compels me to be on time, in fact i’m almost always the first person to arrive at a party. if an invitation says ‘come at 10 pm’, i think that arriving at 10:15 pm is very cosmopolitan. so invariably i’m the first one to arrive. i never learn.
