hi, in seattle for the gristle event tonight at town hall. oops, here are the details:
Town Hall Seattle,
1119 Eighth Avenue, Seattle, Washington 98101
$5 tickets are available at the door starting at 6:30 p.m.
or in advance via www.brownpapetickets.com
i love seattle. i mean, i’m kind of a city slut, in that i love lots of different cities, but nonetheless: i love seattle. even when it’s cold and grey and raining (as it is right now).
oh, a quick aside about politics. today the democrats passed legislation that expanded the federal student loan program, making it easier for millions of americans to go to college. that’s good, right? i mean, who could be opposed to more americans being able to go to college and get better educations and potentially get better jobs and lead better lives? well, republicans, of course.i love this quote: Senator Lamar Alexander, Republican of Tennessee said:
“The Democrats in Washington decided to take over the federal student loan program.”
now, does anyone else see the comedic irony in that quote? Lamar Alexander is upset because people in government in washington are taking over a federal program? i mean, i’m not the brightest guy in the world, but isn’t a federal program by definition already kind of run by politicians in washington? ah well, good ole republicans, consistent in their lunacy.
in other news: i need to shave. i’m starting to look like a homeless vet. which is a good look for some people. but not necessarily for me.
see you soon,
moby
