george harrison has died, which is very, very sad. in addition to writing some wonderful songs with the beatles and on his own did you know that he also produced some really amazing movies? i believe (but i’m not 100% sure) that he produced ‘baron von munchaussen’ and ‘fear and loathing in las vegas’ and ‘the rutles’.
so for many reasons the world is a poorer place for losing george harrison. poor us. wouldn’t it be wonderful if suddenly john lennon and george harrison and kurt cobain and sid vicious and dicky betts and ian curtis were all living and healthy? what is it about genius and innovation that seems to shorten peoples lives?
i’m sad that george harrison is no longer with us. it seems like quite an understatement to say this, but he made great contributions to our world.
