Journal / george bush, in search of friends

george bush, in search of friends, stopped in mongolia yesterday to thank the mongolians for helping out in the war in iraq.
don’t get me wrong, mongolia is a fascinating country with an amazing history, but their contribution to the war in iraq was 131 soldiers.
is gw so desperate for friends and support that he has to go to mongolia?
he doesn’t have the time to meet with cindy sheehan(who happened to be sitting at the foot of his driveway for a few weeks), but he has the time to fly half the way around the world to visit mongolia to thank them for their help in the war?
i wonder when gw will start showing up to news conferences wearing nothing but an old terry cloth bathrobe from k-mart and mumbling about spring break and barbecued lizards.
the united states continues it’s slow and steady descent into the realm of laughing-stock-nation(president visits mongolia, speaker of the house indicted, evolution being fought in the courts, etc), which would be funny if we didn’t have so many weapons.
