Journal / Forgiveness

hi.
i was sent a post by a nice young woman from vancouver who stole my video camera last september.  don’t worry, all is forgiven:-)

one thing i’ve never understood is how people can be so vindictive at times.  once i got my video camera back i was contented (and amused, cos the culprits had taped themselves with it and then said that they didn’t take it, it was funny), but you’d be surprised at how everyone else wanted me to press charges.  everyone around me was so angry at these two young girls, and they couldn’t believe that i just wanted to let them go.  but how would pressing charges have helped?  shouldn’t we all aspire to the ideals of compassion of forgiveness?  i don’t know, i aspire to those ideals (and i often, in fact very often, fall short.  no saint am i.)

so, to the nice young women who stole my video camera, please don’t worry about it, all is forgiven(i was never very upset to begin with, actually, more amused.)  but stealing is bad.  and occasionally illegal…so don’t steal and stay out of jail.  no one wants to go to jail.  we’ve all done dumb things.  so, thusly, when people do dumb things to us shouldn’t we forgive them?  if we hope to be forgiven when we’re stupid
shouldn’t we forgive others when they’re stupid?

on another note: insomnia sucks and i hate it.  if you’ve never had insomnia, count your blessings.  i’ve suffered from sleep problems since i was a little boy.  and it’s very bad these days (i’ve been getting, on average, 2 hours sleep a night for the last 2 weeks).

waaaaaaaahhhhhh(that’s me crying like the little woosie baby that i happen to be).

oh well.
sleep’s kin d odf oberrtated, aniwayll…….zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
