i’m just heading out to do the first ever ‘jonathan ames and moby variety show’.
it should be fun.
what if it’s not?
what if it’s a disaster?
what if i’m perfectly comfortable performing in front of 150,000 people but i freeze up in front of 75?
ah, anxiety…
if nothing else it’ll be fun because the performers that we have performing are really great, and i get to play a song with my old pal renee risque.
and maybe dino and frank and some of the other hep cats will be there with showgirls and bottles of brown liquor.
i just watched will farrel as robert goulet. he’s my hero.

‘what’s that johnny? no, i couldn’t. me? sing a song? no. oh well, ok’.
if you were able to get tickets to the variety show i hope that you end up having a fun time.
maybe we’ll even have a sing-a-long.
