so area:one has drawn to a successful and satisfying close.
i’m back in nyc where it’s 100 degrees, and i can’t believe that we were able to pull off such a fun and amazing summer festival.
i need to say thank you to every single person who was involved, from the bands and dj’s to the drivers and caterers and roadies and tour managers and lighting people and sound people and technicians and production people and merchandisers and sponsors and etc etc.
not only did we have some absolutely remarkable bands and dj’s involved in area:one, but all of the people behind the scenes were absolutely remarkable, too.
it’s nice to do something as experimental as area:one and be able to walk away from it with a sense of great satisfaction.
i know that we had some minor hiccups (long lines for the dance tents, etc), and we will try to remedy these problems for next year.
but overall i really believe that we did something really special.
so thanks to everyone who came out and supported us, and thanks to the bands and dj’s, and thanks to all of the production people, and thanks to the sponsors, and thanks to the promoters, and thanks to everyone else who was involved.
and as i said while on tour, we can have a wonderful festival, but without a wonderful audience we have nothing.
and we had a really wonderful, open-minded, celebratory audience.
so, thank you thank you thank you.
