Journal / DJ’ing Days

i went to visit a friend of mine who was dj’ing this evening. she was dj’ing at a little bar on avenue a, playing cd’s for 10 people, and it reminded me of all the times that my friends used to come and visit me when i was dj’ing in little bars on tuesday nights, playing records for sort of empty places. but seeing as it was her first time ever dj’ing it was really good, well, i enjoyed it. she played a lot of stone roses, wire, bauhaus, etc. and she played that song by ‘white town’ that was so huge 4 years ago but seems to have been completely forgotten now. if you heard it you’d remember it, it had that little horn sample that is so cute and distinctive.
and i just saw a picture of bono and michael stipe and i on stage and i look really chubby. this decadent urban vegan lifestyle is catching up to me. time to cut back on the chocolate-raspberry odwalla bars (but they’re so sweet and tasty…).
ok, to sound a familiar refrain, back to work.
