does anyone remember that on september 12, 2001 i wrote an update wherein i said that the american national security institutions (fbi, cia, and nsa) in the united states had failed us by allowing the attacks on the world trade center and the pentagon to occur?
i receive a lot of criticism for this update.
i was deemed unpatriotic by many members of the right wing media.
and now…

washington (reuters) – a u.s. congressional report on sept. 11 failures by the fbiand cia will be released this week.
the report to be released on thursday stems from last year’s joint inquiry by the house and senate intelligence committees that found the spy agencies missed chances to track or share information that could have shed light on the sept. 11 plot.

….and then later i tried to draw attention to long standing ties between bush and cheney and the saudi’s and the bin ladens…

washington(reuters)-…but a section of the congressional report on whether there was any saudi support for the hijackers will remain classified, at the direction of the bush administration, government sources said on tuesday.
lawmakers lost the battle with the intelligence agencies to declassify material related to whether there was any saudi support for some of the hijackers, the government sources said.
fifteen of the 19 hijackers were saudi. twenty-seven of the 28 pages dealing with that issue are blacked out.

that’s all for now.
dark times here in the u.s.

damn…
the republicans in the house of representatives tried to bypass democratic legislative procedure recently and called the police to break up a meeting of democrat legislators in the library where democrat legislators often meet. the republicans said they felt threatened by one democrat lawmaker, and that’s why they called the police.
the lawmaker they felt threatened by is 72 years old, and he was alone in a room full of republicans.
the democrats were meeting peacefully and legally and the republicans called the police to break up the meeting.

i knew that republicans were immoral hypocrites, but i never knew that they would stoop to police state tactics on capitol hill.
what the hell is happening to the united states? a president who is installed in office after losing the election by 500,000 votes.
immigrants illegally detained by the justice department.
police state tactics on capitol hill.
a war waged under blatantly false pretenses.
military tribunals set up to try citizens of allied nations.
and so on.
republicans and the bush administration have no respect for the rule of law, and they’ve chosen to flount it whenever due process and the rule of law have been inconvenient for them.
as a result of apathy on the part of the general public and unethical and totalitarian behavior on the part of the republican lawmakers it’s safe to say that these are dark times in the usa.
