i, like most reasonable americans, watch the daily show as often as possible.
it’s without question the smartest, funniest, and most germaine show on television.
and normally it’s very light hearted, regardless of the subject matter.
but today they talked about bush’s veto of providing federal funds for stem cell research, and they contrasted his anti-stem cell research speech wherein he said, basically, ‘every individual human life is sacred’ with his speech of a few weeks ago where he said, ‘i dunno, somewhere around 30,000 iraqi citizens were killed in the beginning of the iraqi war’.
john stewart had a look in his eye that was less bemused irony, and more baffled outrage.
gw bush is our president? every human life is sacred, but ‘around 30,000 iraqi civilians were killed during the beginning of the iraqi war’?
i’m sorry, i know that i oftentimes rant about what an idiot gw bush is, but now i actually believe that he’s evil.
let’s look at some evidence:
a-he’s responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.
b-he’s cut health care funding for the poor, while cutting taxes for the richest americans.
c-he’s heavily federally subsidised industries which are actively destroying the planet on which we live.
d-he’s put u.s soldiers in harms way without providing them adequate armor, an adequate plan, or even an understanding of why they’re overseas.
e-and now he’s used his first veto to block federal funding for scientific research(stem cell research)that could actually save millions of lives.
sorry, i know it’s not our place to judge, but president bush seems to be one of the most dangerous incarnations of evil on the planet.
i could be wrong. i’d like to be wrong.
and i know that some people will think that i’m just indulging in hyperbole.
but look at the evidence i’ve listed above.
or dig deeper and look at his record as governor(more executions than any other governor in the latter half of the 20th century). and look at the other despicable things he’s done in office.
he’s not passively allowing evil to occur, he’s actively promoting and creating evil at home and abroad.
his veto of stem cell research really has convinced me.
he’d rather see embryo’s thrown in the trash than used for scientific research that could help millions of people.
at this point i believe that it’s our moral imperative to do all that we can to elect a democratic house and senate in november to somehow try and block what is seemingly the administration of a man who is doing evil works.
and he may call himself a christian, but i don’t remember anywhere in the new testament where christ calls upon his followers to kill hundreds of thousands of innocent people, take resources from the poor and give them to the rich, and actively destroy the planet on which we live.
i wish i were indulging in hyperbole, i really do. but all the evidence seems to point to the fact that george bush is not just dangerous and inept, but actively evil.
