Journal / Cribs

the aggravation and expense of having cable tv installed paid off this weekend.
i was watching the tail-end of ‘cribs’ and i was treated to a guided tour of mariah carey’s house. oh my. did anyone else see this? she has a closet that is bigger than my home. i’m in awe. the room for her shoes is larger than my whole studio. i’m glad that such excess exists in the world cos it’s so entertaining. ethically questionable, perhaps, but isn’t everything? and if something is going to be ethically questionable at least it should be entertaining as well. and a tv documentary about a 4,000 square foot closet is profoundly entertaining. but my standards for entertainment are pretty suspect. i mean my 2 favorite tv shows are cops and the simpsons. not very highbrow, huh. i love the voyeurism of cribs. it’s like show & tell for disfunctional rockstars (present company included). you see when i did cribs i actually hid the big screen tv and went out and rented some books so that i could give the impression of being a sensitive and erudite musician. but after the camera crew left i put the stripper pole back in the corner, popped ‘road trip’ into the dvd player, fried up some pork chops and had a big old maximalist party. cos that’s how i’m livin’. just keepin’ it real in the ’02.
ugh. fewer things are more pathetic than a white guy in his 30’s trying to pepper his speech with outdated hip-hop colloquialisms. for real, yo.
see what i mean? pathetic.
ok, time to go and look at dwarf porn and then watch something jejeune and piquant on skinemax.

p.s-i have no idea what ‘jejeune’ means. speaking of dwarf porn, a friend of mine got a videotape of dwarf porn ‘bloopers’. it is safe to say that i never, ever need to see that tape.
