sometimes my cluelessness stuns me…
i just got an email from a friend of mine who is going to a superbowl party.
in responding to this email i of course asked, ‘the superbowl is today?’
i had no idea.
real americans must hate me.
i didn’t know that today was the superbowl and i have absolutely no idea which teams will be performing.
do people even refer to teams as ‘performing’?
competing?
what to football teams do in the superbowl?
perform or compete?
kelly just said that she, too, was going to go to a superbowl party, and, if possible, she knows even less about sports than i do. she said that she would go to a superbowl party and ‘vote’ for one of the teams.
now, i might not know much about sports, but i’m pretty sure that people don’t ‘vote’ for their favorite sports team, do they?
one ‘roots’ for or ‘supports’ a team, right?
i should probably keep my ignorance to myself, huh.
any day i expect a knock on the door from george bush’s ‘bad american’ squad.
‘mr. hall, due to your ignorance about american professional athletics and your continuing derisive comments about george bush and hisadministration of oil drinking vampires we are forcibly stripping you of your american citizenship. henceforth you will be a citizen offredonia. all hail fredonia.’
ignorantly yours,
moby
