for the life of me i don’t understand that some people don’t like to clean their own home.
i’m having work done on my studio, and as i can’t be in my studio working on music i’m taking the free time and cleaning my apartment.
and it’s so therapeutic. you put on some nice music and you get your sponges and scrubbers and dust rags and it becomes almost like meditation.
today i:
scrubbed my bathroom floor
cleaned my toilet and the area around my toilet
dusted my bookshelves
scrubbed my stove
scrubbed my counter tops
took out all of my extemporaneous trash and boxes mopped my bedroom floor
and so on.
i’m not bragging (ok, i’m bragging. a little bit). is there something wrong with me that i like cleaning up my home? it’s instantly gratifying (and not in the same way that crack or pcp are). you spend 5 minutes cleaning your stove and lo and behold your stove looks nice again. order is restored. chaos and entropy are kept at bay for a minute or two.
and if you really want to exorcise chaos and entropy from your home while you’re cleaning try listening to some nice baroque classical music.
not a lot of chaos and entropy in baroque classicall music, is there.
and if you really, really want to exorcise chaos and entropy from your home while you’re cleaning and listening to baroque classical music try taking a little break and sitting in the sun while drinking some green tea and reading the economist’s report on productivity increases among the work forces of various nations (and feel free to add some crack or pcp to your green tea, just to spice it up a little bit).
although crack and pcp are chaotic and entropic drugs. or so it would seem. i’ve never tried crack. nor pcp. at least i don’t think so. i might have accidentally smoked pcp when i was a wee youth. maybe not.
ok, i have more stuff to clean. my globe needs dusting. the globe needs dusting. that works as an odd sort of triple entendre, especially given my questions about pcp use in my youth.
i’m rambling, sorry.
