the charges were dropped today, but, to phrase it politely, what the hell?
hasn’t anyone in washington d.c read the fucking constitution??
why is the first amendment routinely treated as an annoying bastard step-child by those in power?
she wore a fucking t-shirt, for goodness sake.
she didn’t stand up and and start screaming.
she didn’t pour blood on republican congressmen.
she just wore a simple t-shirt that asked a simple and germane question.
the bush administration and the republicans have shown nothing but contempt for the first amendment, which in turn leads me to have nothing but contempt for the bush administration.
one of the best things about the united states is that we have a constitution that ostensibly protects our freedom of speech, press, assembly, and religion.
our elected officials are bound by oath to protect and defend and uphold the constitution, and all they do is disregard it and trample upon it when it doesn’t serve their interests.
