so for the next two weeks i’m the proud companion of a little pet rat named ‘captain nipper’. a friend of mine is going away, and she needed someone to look after her pet rat. so i volunteered cos i do have a soft spot for little rats.
although captain nipper isn’t particularly little. she’s very, very fat. she’s had a comfortable life. and she’s very sweet and soft.
i don’t see how even the most hardened rat-hater could hate her.
she’s like a character in a beatrix potter book.
and all that she does is sniff. she stands up on her hind legs and holds her little front paws together and sniffs the air and it’s very cute.
and i’ve discovered that she has a great fondness for tortilla chips. although she didn’t seem to like odwalla bars very much. and nuts and seeds.

and i guess that’s all that i have to report today. time to go and watch the rat sniff the air.
