Journal / boards

sorry for the long period without the boards.
i still don’t have any concrete answers on what we’re going to do.
i’m hoping, however, to have answers by thursday or friday.
sorry for the long delay.

well, as i’m technically challenged i’m not exactly in any position to comment on the technical problems with the boards.
but i’ve asked the powers that be to seriously look into the grievances and complaints that have been put forward lately as regards the technical problems with the boards.
as always i apologize, and we’ll do the best that we can.

yes, the boards are being looked at.
we’re(well, when i say ‘we’ i have to point out that i don’t know the first thing about web design and/or maintenance…)trying to figure out what the problem is/are.
thanks

yes,
as far as i can tell the boards don’t seem to be working…
i have no idea why, but i’ll try to figure it out, and hopefully they’ll be up and running very soon.
sorry,

the slowness of the boards will be remedied soon. or so i’ve been told.
‘soon’ might mean different things to different people.
let’s all take a fairly loose and patient understanding of ‘soon’, ok?
that way when it’s sooner than we’ve been expecting we’ll be happy.

boards…
i know the boards are still slow…
and i’m sorry.

in the next week or so we will be implementing a few changes that will make the boards faster.
thanks again for your ongoing patience.

and i apologize for the boards being occasionally slow.
we will do our best to make things better.

yes, the boards are slow.
yes, it annoys me, too.
yes, i apologize.
i hope that this sluggishness will be remedied very, very soon.
cos it sucks ass.

we’ve changed the boards so that they’ll be faster and more efficient.
aesthetically they have a few, uh, shortcomings.
i’m hoping the aesthetic problems with the boards will be remedied in the near future.
but they’re faster and much less problematic than the old boards.
which is good, right?
moby

Journal / Boards

are the boards easier to read now?
i know, that white background was making me nauseous.
aesthetically it was nice, but not very practical.
so is it better? or, are they better?
syntax isn’t my strong point.
moby

Journal / Boards

oh, why the boards were down?
because….(drum roll)

apparently the servers for the boards were being powered by a subsidiary of enron.
i kid you not.
now we’ve switched.
or so they tell me.

Journal / Boards

yup.
some sort of problems with the ‘boards’. sorry. and sorry that we didn’t let you know beforehand. i think that work is being done to make the ‘general’ boards load faster.
hopefully it’ll be done soon.
in fact, there is a better than likely chance that by the time you read this update the boards will be back up.

just a reminder…we are (i assume, i guess i shouldn’t say ‘we’ cos i’m not really involved in the actual work) working on making the new boards better.
i won’t be happy until:

a: users profiles are available with every post.
b: all replies to a post are instantly viewable.
c: the white text on the light grey background is changed to make it more readable.
d: etc.

think of this as march before the spring.  when the boards are all fixed and healthy we will all be able to bathe in the sweet loveliness of happy, fully functioning boards. for now we just have to put on another pair of damp socks and trudge through the mire to fetch damp wood.

ok, enough with the analogies.
have a nice weekend (although this will be put up on monday) so, have you had a nice weekend?

Journal / ‘Boards’

well, i’m sorry about the situation with the ‘boards’.

hopefully it will be fixed soon and we’ll be able to somehow protect against it happening again. now i’m back in new york city looking at my dry little christmas tree which is going to have to join it’s compadres on the street soon. and then it will probably find itself in a land-fill somewhere. kind of sad. it’s been a particularly nice christmas tree. one thing that always strikes me as a bit funny and a bit sad is when people throw out their christmas trees with the lights and the stand still attached. ah well. i guess it makes for good business for christmas stand and light manufacturers. but it does seem a bit sad. the poor little christmas trees sitting on the new york sidewalks with their festive lights and decorations looking decidedly forlorn and unfestive. especially now as the snow on nyc is starting to turn that unique grey colour of city snow.

ok, so when i know more about the ‘boards’ problems i’ll let you know.
i assume that it’s being worked on dilligently….
bye for now,
