i’m so impressed….
i just finished reading bebe buell’s autobiography.
wow.
bebe buell is liv tyler’s mother (with steven tyler as the father). and in the 70’s bebe really got to know a lot of rock stars very, very well.
it’s a pretty impressive list. as far as i can tell, in the course of 8 years she slept with iggy pop, mick jagger, jack nicholson, jimmy page, david johannsen, todd rundgren, elvis costello, warren beatty, stiv bators, rod stewart, ric ocasek, steven tyler, and many others. amazing. an amazing testimonial to a time when the rock star was king… it’s not too hard to figure out why she was so popular, for she was a very attractive model who loved rock stars. but to what can we attribute the enduring sexual popularity of the rock star? i mean even i get female romantic attention and i look like a retarted thumb with razor stubble. of course i’m usually too clueless and shy to actually do anything with any of the people who give me romantic attention, but it’s still flattering in it’s own way. but that phenomenon of rock stars being the object of peoples sexual desires is a strange phenomenon indeed. and may it long continue in some form or another. cos deep down all rock stars truly are geeks, and without the phenomenon wherein rock stars are perceived as being desirable most rock stars would be holed up in recording studios and hotel suites leading sexless lives. and as we all know, rock stars need sex to make good records. right? isn’t that true? or is it as proust (i think it was proust) said every time he had an orgasm: “”oops, there goes another novel.””
urban literary myths make the world go around.
along with gravity.
or as homer simpson said, completely seperate from the subject of this update, “”ah, rockstars, is there anything that they don’t know?””
it was the “”sending our love down a well”” episode. with timmy. and sting.
thanks for indulging me, i’ll go to sleep now.
