you know, if i were wise i would wait and write updates only when i have something important to say.
but as we all know, i’m not exactly the brightest bulb in the chandelier, so i oftentimes write updates that are complete and utter exercises in banality and/or mundanity. like this one.
a lot is happening in the world: weapons of mass destruction are still not being found, a healthy economy is still not being had, sanity and wisdom are still not prevailing in the califonia gubernatorial travesty, people in the middle east are still not living up to the compassionate teachings upon which their religions are founded, people with guns are still not refraining from killing each other in the most savage and barbaric ways, the justice department are still not investigating the bush administration about criminal leaks regarding exposing a cia agent, and so on.
but yet i still feel compelled to write a trite and banal update.
so trite, in fact, that i can’t even think of anything trite to write about.
so in an expression of utter banality i find myself writing about banality itself.
good old banality, the mothers milk upon which we are all regularly fed. benign banality. the banality of the benign and the benevolence of the banal.
ok, here’s something that’s not banal. rene risque. i went to see rene risque at the mercury lounge on friday night and he/they were amazing.
they weren’t indulging in the banal.
well, maybe if you get rid of the b.
oh, and i finally got the finished test-pressings of the dvd.
and it’s got a lot of stuff on it. i hope that you all like it.
it would seem to have:
a-90 minute long ‘moby tv’ section comprised of all of the videos from ’18’ (including the contest winning video) and a bunch of comedy (that may or may not be funny, i have no idea) and some various and sundry other things.
b-the entire concert that we did at glastonbury this summer (roughly 90 minutes)
c-a 90 minute long megamix of all of the remixes from ’18’
d-2 hours of unreleased material (demo’s, outtakes, etc)
e-every photo that i’ve taken in the last 3 years
f-a bonus disc with all of the b-sides from ’18’
so, in other words, a lot of stuff (what’s that, like 6 hours of material? something like that, i think). i’m quite happy with it. but i’m not sure when it’s actually going to be released, sometime in early december, i think. or late november. being self-interested i will, of course, let you know when it’s going to be released.
and now it’s 1:30 a.m and i’m going to go to sleep now.
