a few words about the sauna.
or as it’s pronounced in much of scandanavia, the ‘sow-nuh.’ in america people say ‘saw-nah’.
which is wrong. cos the sauna was invented in scandanavia.
as we all know.
and the sauna was originally used as a place to store cannons.
or cannon.
which is the plural, i believe.
ok, i’m making things up again.
but my hotel room has it’s very own sauna. with it’s very own window in the sauna. looking out onto it’s very own view of stockholm.
i’ve spent lots of really nice time in stockholm. years ago i dated a wonderful woman who lived in stockholm, and i used to visit her here. she’s still here, and she’s still wonderful, and we are friends now, which is also very nice. in fact she and her family will all be coming to our show in stockholm on friday night. do i sound particularly simple minded this evening? i’m feeling particularly simple minded this evening.
and i just saw the new ‘in this world video.’
it’s very cute and very sweet but also very melancholy. poor little guys. you’ll understand when you see it. i challenge you not to say ‘awwww….’ at least once during the ‘in thisworld’ video.

ok, i might fire up the sauna and roast my brain and body. and then when i’m covered in sweat i will do summersaults in the hallway of the hotel.
what is the etymology of ‘summersaults’?
