Journal / Atlantic

i had lunch with ahmet ertegun today.  for those of you who don’t know who ahmet ertegun is, he’s the man who started atlantic records in 1947, and he’s a truly remarkable man.
he signed aretha franklin, and led zeppelin, and etc.
i honestly feel so privileged that i was able to sit with him for a few hours and hear his stories and talk about music with him.
wow.
the majority of people who run big entertainment companies aren’t the people who founded these companies.  it was such an honor to sit with a man who started his record company in a hotel room in 1947 and then watched as it became the most successful record company in the world.

now it’s 2 a.m and i’m really sleepy so i’m going to put my head down and go to sleep.

i hope that y’all have a nice weekend.

and i hope that we don’t go to war with china over taiwan.

strange times that we live in.
