so arnold schwarzenneger and gary coleman are now candidates to be the next governor of california.
ha. ha. ha?
is this just hubris? or a publicity stunt? or some sort of neurological chemical imbalance on the part of these candidates?
if california were it’s own country it would have an economy roughly the size of the u.k’s. does arnold schwarzenneger think that he has the experience or the intellect to govern a state as rich and powerful as california?
he’s never governed anything, or has he?
i might like ‘kindergarten cop’ and ‘true lies’, but i wouldn’t ask arnie to fix my car or prune my basil plants or put up some dry-wall or be the elected titular head of california.
and by the way, ‘true lies’ is great. i just saw it again the other day. arnie and tom arnold should make more movies together.
but i’m getting off the point.
so what is it, hubris?
i have nothing against arnold schwarzenneger. i even liked ‘jingle all the way’ with sinbad (well, parts of it). i also have nothing against juliette lewis or mc hammer or beck or brad pitt. maybe arnie could learn from them, for at least they have the good sense to be entertainers and not to run for the governorship of california.
why can’t arnie start small?
run for mayor of oakland.
or first selectman or fresno (the raisin capital of the world).
start small, learn about local government, and then work your way up the ladder, arnie.
or am i taking his candidacy more seriously than he’s intended for it to be taken?
maybe he’s just a master at p.r.
if so, congratulations, and i hope that ‘t-3’ does good box office next week.
i particularly liked the robot fight in the toilet.
