president obama wasn’t elected by an old and established political machine, he was elected in an unprecedented fashion, by you and your vote and your contributions and your efforts. normally when 3 million people gather in the cold it’s to protest something or to watch a bon jovi concert or to watch people play football. today 3 million people gathered in dc to watch and celebrate the inauguration of our nations first black president, while billions of people around the world watched and listened as we peacefully handed the reins of power from one president to the next, and from one political party to another.
