a few days ago i went to the cloisters, which is probably my favorite place/museum in nyc. it’s hidden away at the very tippy top of manhattan, and it’s hard to get to, so as a result it’s never crowded(not that there’s such a huge audience for medieval art and  architecture to begin with…). but it really is the nicest place in nyc(and that’s saying a lot, as nyc has some pretty nice places).

here are some pictures from the cloisters.

#1-a medieval demon eating a peasants brains

cloisters 1

#2-a man with a face on a stick and a very contended looking hair covered creature

cloisters 2

#3-a demon trapped in stone, apparently surrounded by medieval dancing girls

cloisters 3

if you’re ever in nyc i highly recommend a trip to the cloisters, as it’s amazing. it’s also arguably the least trendy place in new york city, which also adds to its appeal(in other words there’s almost zero chance that you’ll run into hipsters there ironically checking out the herb gardens and medieval statuary while listening to grizzly bear).

ok, have a nice weekend. and maybe see you tonight at le poisson rouge.
