Journal / i write about politics way too much

i know, i write about politics way too much.
but i just want us to remember a few things about iraq:

the bush administration stated that the war in iraq would last, at most, a few weeks.

they stated that u.s troops would be greeted ‘as liberators’.

the bush administration falsified intelligence about iraq having weapons of mass destruction.

gw bush and the republicans made false claims that iraq was involved with al qaeda.

gw bush and the republicans made false claims that iraq had been involved in 9-11.

3 1/2 years ago gw bush declared ‘mission accomplished’.

over $1,000,000,000,000.00 in u.s taxpayers money has been spent in iraq.

tens of thousands of u.s troops have been killed and wounded in iraq.

hundreds of thousands of iraqi citizens have died as a result of the war.

the republican administration and congress sent u.s troops into battle without a clear plan and without adequate armor and protection.

during the mid-term elections gw bush and dick cheney were still saying that ‘absolutely, we’re winning’, and that the democratic plan of troop reduction would give ‘victory to the terrorists’.

now both the new secretary of defense and the iraqi study group have confirmed that the bush strategy in iraq has been an abject failure and that u.s troops are rudderless and losing, and both are calling for troop reduction.

gw bush and the republicans have kept american troops in harms way for FOUR YEARS without any viable or coherent plan for establishing peace in iraq. gw bush and the republicans have allowed hundreds of billions of dollars of taxpayers money to be spent and tens of thousands of u.s troops to be wounded and killed rather than admit that they screwed up and invaded iraq without a plan.

i just think that it’s worth remembering all of these salient pieces of information.
thanks
