today i did an npr show called 'wait! wait! don't tell me'.

today i did an npr show called 'wait! wait! don't tell me'.
ok, by 'did' i mean that i was a guest. 'did' is perfunctory show biz lingo. sorry.
if you don't know 'wait! wait! don't tell me', it really is the funniest thing on the radio.
i was in the audience for half the show and i was laughing. and laughing.
again with the laughing.
drew carey was one of the panelists, and he was really funny.
well, everyone involved in the show was really funny, the hosts, the panelists, even
the people making coffee backstage.
i'm not sure when the show is airing, but i encourage you to listen.
funny.
if you laugh you live longer.
it's true.
and today(friday)i'm going to iowa to spend the weekend with david lynch.
i think we might go canoeing.
ok, by 'think' i mean 'hope'.
i hope we go canoeing.
why?
i like canoeing and i like david lynch('inland empire' being the best movie of the last decade. i know not everyone shares
my opinion on that, alas).
i don't know iowa too well, but i'm assuming i'll like iowa, too.
if you're near fairfield, iowa come on over and say hi.
laura and daron and i are going to play a few acoustic songs there on saturday night.
oh, did i mention that tuesday night in chicago was really fun?
holy ghost! and justin and jacques were great, and the audience was great, too.
i'm ending a lot of sentences with 'too'.
it's like the lazy persons way of ending sentences without going into too much detail.
if i had an editor they'd hit me in the head with a rolled up newspaper and say 'stop being such a lazy fucker, write something
other than etc or too.'
but i don't have an editor.
which has probably been painfully clear for the last, oh, 7 years?
maybe i should look for an editor on craig's list.
ok, off to iowa.
-moby

You were hysterical

I loved every minute. And I agree, the electric bass is the sexiest instrument.
Thank you!

editor

hey i quit my coporate communications job - i'll be your editor!

Sad in Iowa...

I was only 2 hours away and was denied the means to travel to this show. Words can't really describe how bummed I am and how bummed my girlfriend(whom i met on the moby boards)is about not getting to go.
Glad to hear you had a great time and I hope those Fairfielders know how lucky they are that you came to their prom and such.

If you do ever come back to Iowa then I will not miss this for anything....well expect for maybe the chance to meet Matt Groening. Even then it would be a hard choice.

Hey

Hello Moby my names Steve Lawson I'm a film/animation student at RIT currently living in Brooklyn doing an unpaid internship at a stop motion animation studio. In fact that animation studio happens to share space with your guitar player.

Anyways last week an idea popped in my head for a music video and you came to mind. I think you would really like it, and with your new album out I thought it could be a possibility trying to make it happen. I was actually going to talk to Darren and see if he could tell you the idea but I figured it'd be better trying to get in touch with you myself, on a person to person level. I'm not trying to make money (depending on how we want to handle it it could probably be done with practically no budget), I just want to make the video for the sake of making it. My email is svl8682@rit.edu so just send me an email if you'd like to get together with a poor college student trying to do what he loves. If you'd rather meet in person and discuss things I'm open to that too.

Enjoy your stay in Iowa, I've never been there but anyplace is nice from the view of a canoe.
ps. my birthday is also 9/11, so this may be fate
-Steve

Caught the secret Iowa Show

It was very cool. I went to Maharishi University of Management in the 90's and it was great to get a performer of such integrity and charisma. The founder of the the University had just passed away in February and it was healing to have David Lynch organize this and Moby to come. Thank you. It was pretty cold so I doubt you got the canoe ride...

bienvenue chez nous

Bonjour Moby :-)
We love your world.
We want share our world with you .

Festival Xtremo in Monterrey

Hi Moby,

I heard that you will be in a Festival in Monterrey, Mx it's that true?

Hector Gonzalez

i can't believe moby is going to be on wait wait

I absolutely love moby and wait wait don't tell me. This is seriously like two of my favorite things in the world combined into an hour of radio entertainment.

Wait...I'm in Iowa too!

I'm that girlfriend and I'm very excited as well! I haven't lived here long at all, but I can tell you this; expect a lot of stares from the locals. Perhaps bring a cowboy hat in case you need to feel safer at some point in time. -only joking...or am i?

Wait...I'm in Iowa!!!

My girlfriend and I were sooo bummed that we couldn't make it to the secret show, but after reading this journal it made our week.

We live in Decorah, Ia which is only 4 hour drive and we were already planning on staying at Center Point, IA which is just 2 hours away from Fairfield.

We going to get their sometime early evening and start asking the town folk if they have seen a pale bald man with glasses rocking any bars in town.

Oh, and Moby just a head ups if we don't see you first, the rivers are very high from recent rains and I imagine their still rather cold so try not to fall in.

iowans are nice

i hope you get a chance to laugh with David Lynch while you are canoeing. just don't laugh too hard, or else you will capsize. but that might not be so bad on a warm day and it might make you laugh more, which means you will live even longer too.

P.S.

As far as David Lynch is concerned - I liked the most Nicolas Cage in Wild at heart:)

Laughing

Today I was talking to a maid about my husband just when he called my mobile. I answered the phone. He asked: “Where are you and whom are you laughing with?”. I said: “At home, with a maid”. Jealous after 13 years... So sometimes you have to be careful when laughing:).
I wish you go canoeing with David Lynch. Have a nice weekend and enjoy Iowa. Best regards from Poland. Iwona
